PVC Wall Panels for Kitchens: Water-Resistant and Easy to Wipe
Why water-resistant PVC wall panels suit busy kitchen walls, where to use them, how to choose a finish, and what they cost per sqft.
Kitchen walls take more daily wear than almost any other surface at home. Steam from the rice cooker, oil from the wok, splashes from the sink and fingerprints around the switches all land on them. Painted plaster soon shows it. PVC wall panels are made for this kind of room: water-resistant, smooth enough to wipe clean, and available in light finishes that keep a kitchen feeling bright. Here is how to decide whether they suit your kitchen and how to plan the job.
Why PVC panels suit kitchen walls
The reasons come down to the material and the way a kitchen is used.
Water-resistant surface
PVC panels are water-resistant, so everyday splashes and condensation from cooking do not soak into the face of the wall the way they can with paint. That matters in a humid climate, where kitchens can stay damp long after the stove is off.
Wipes clean with a damp cloth
Most marks come off with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, mild soap once a month is enough. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which can dull the surface.
A light, even finish
Light PVC finishes reflect daylight and the glow of under-cabinet lights, which helps compact kitchens in condos and terrace houses feel more open.

Where PVC panels work in a kitchen
Not every kitchen wall needs panels. These are the areas where they make the biggest difference.
The wall above the counter
The strip between the countertop and the upper cabinets is the busiest surface in most kitchens. Panelling it gives one continuous, easy-to-clean face in place of patchy paint.
Around the sink
Walls beside and behind the sink see constant splashes. A water-resistant PVC face is a practical upgrade here, especially in kitchens where the sink sits under a window.
Wet kitchen and service areas
Many Malaysian homes have a separate wet kitchen or a service yard for heavy cooking and laundry. PVC panels can refresh these hard-working walls without the formality of a full renovation.
Planning around the hob
Tell us where the hob, hood and gas point sit when you send your photos. We plan the layout around them and confirm the details during the site inspection.
Choosing the look
A kitchen wall should be easy to live with as well as easy to clean.
A gentle relief finish
The PVC panel in our collection carries a soft relief pattern that adds quiet interest to a plain kitchen wall without competing with cabinets or tiles. If you are unsure how a pattern will sit around a busy cooking area, send a photo and ask which finish suits it best.

Pairing with the rest of the home
If the kitchen opens onto the dining or living area, consider how the panels sit beside a fluted or wood-grain feature wall nearby. A calm, light PVC finish in the kitchen lets a richer feature wall elsewhere take the lead.
When marble-look makes sense
For a show kitchen or a dry kitchen island wall, the gloss PU marble-look panels in Gold, Silver or Black also wipe clean with a damp cloth and give a more polished look. They belong to the Marble Wall Panel line, priced separately below.

What changes the quotation
Kitchen walls tend to have more cut-outs than living room walls: sockets, switches, the hood, window frames and cabinet edges. The quotation reflects wall area, material and finish, the condition of the existing wall, the installation pattern, site access and any additional work. Old tiles or damp patches are worth showing in close-up photos.
Everyday care
Wipe splashes and oil with a damp cloth as they happen, use mild soap once a month, and skip abrasive cleaners and scouring pads.
